What Tasmanian Owners Get for the Fee

What you are paying for when a certified valuer prepares the report instead of a template or a broker

A Valuer Who Knows the Tasmanian Setting

Someone who understands how thin sales evidence can be in a small state, how the State Revenue Office of Tasmania treats landholder duty and transfer duty, and what Part 19 of the Supreme Court Rules 2000 asks of an expert, available to you by video call and phone.

Indicative From A$799; Certified Reports From Seven Business Days

You see the fee and the steps before you commit. When your records are complete, a certified Summary or Detailed report follows from seven business days.

A Named Signature on Every Certified Report

A credentialed valuer signs each Summary and Detailed report, in the form the ATO, ASIC, Tasmanian courts and lenders expect to see.

No Upselling: One Report for Each Purpose

A sale, an ATO matter, an audit and an SMSF transaction each match one of the three report types. We tell you which on the first call, and it is not automatically the largest.

A Figure You Can Explain to Others

The closing call covers the approaches used, the adjustments made and how they were weighed, so you can answer a co-owner, a buyer or your family when they ask.

Ready for the ATO and the State Revenue Office of Tasmania

Prepared under APES 225 and the ATO's market valuation guidelines, and laid out so the ATO, the State Revenue Office of Tasmania and your auditor can follow every step.

Choose the Service That Matches Your Purpose

Each service below is delivered as one of the three report types. Begin with what has happened in the business; the people who will rely on the figure decide how deep the report goes.

01

Sale, deals & planning

Valuations that set or test a price: a purchase or sale, a handover to the next generation, a group restructure, or new shareholders from among your staff or investors.

Expert evidence for oppression and shareholder claims in the Supreme Court of Tasmania, property settlements through the Federal Circuit and Family Court registry in Hobart, and claims for lost profits or other economic loss.

Questions Hobart Owners Ask About Fees and Reports

A signed opinion of what a business, or a stake in one, is worth at a given date, built from the income, market and asset approaches and reconciled into a single conclusion that can be supported.
Yes, if someone is going to test the figure: the Supreme Court of Tasmania, the ATO, the State Revenue Office of Tasmania, a lender or the other side's expert. For a planning figure you keep to yourself, an Indicative report will do. It is for internal decision-making and is not a certified opinion for third parties.
Frequently, where the report relates to earning assessable income or to a CGT event. The treatment depends on your circumstances, so check it with your tax adviser first.
Usually, for a sale, a partner joining, an employee share scheme, a loan application or an SMSF audit: cases where others will read the figure but are unlikely to fight it in court.
Software can run a formula, but it cannot judge normalisation, risk or which sales are truly comparable, and no bank or court will rely on an unsigned printout. A person prepares every report we issue, and each certified report is signed by a certified valuer.
Usually a Detailed report. Expert evidence in the Supreme Court of Tasmania is governed by Part 19 of the Supreme Court Rules 2000 and the court's Expert Witness Code of Conduct, and family law matters follow the Federal Circuit and Family Court's own rules; both expect the reasoning in full. A smaller claim in the Magistrates Court, or a dispute likely to settle at mediation, can sometimes rest on a Summary report, and we confirm that on the first call.
It supports the decision that prompted it: pricing a sale, settling a dispute, answering the ATO or the State Revenue Office of Tasmania, satisfying an auditor, or agreeing terms with a partner or investor.
In Australia the core standard is APES 225 Valuation Services. The International Valuation Standards add a common method where comparison across borders matters, and the ATO's market valuation guidelines apply to anything with a tax consequence.
A valuer holding the CFA, ABV and CBV designations, with more than 15 years in valuation, transactions and expert evidence. Every certified report carries a certified valuer's signature.
An opinion prepared and signed under APES 225 by a credentialed valuer, recording the purpose, the evidence, the adjustments and the reasoning so that a court, the ATO, a lender or the other party can rely on it.
No. Every consultation runs by video call or phone and documents are exchanged securely, so the engagement works the same wherever you trade. We act for owners in Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence, Kingborough and the Huon Valley, and across the rest of Tasmania.

"What you pay for is the part that makes a report hold: a credentialed valuer, a complete method, and a conclusion still standing after the ATO, a judge or the other side has had a turn at it."
